The Somerset Mark & Royal Ark Mariner Demonstration Team

The Somerset Mark and Royal Ark Mariner Demonstration Team, also known as the Somerset Lodge of Improvement, will perform the ceremonies when invited to do so by any Lodge in the Province.

HERE TO HELP

The Somerset Mark & Royal Ark Mariner Demonstration Team was first formed when the Provincial Grand Master David Nelson saw a possible need for some assistance to be given to Lodges throughout the Province. The idea was to be available to attend meetings particularly when Lodges were sometimes in need of something to fill in when no candidates were available and also to give advice and instruction when requested and it must be emphasised that they only attend when requested. It was not as some were inclined to believe to be an elite group. Over recent years the L of I have performed ceremonies where Lodges have been without candidates for a period of time.

These evenings have always been very successful as rather than a second or sometimes even third demonstration of advancement those members who attend, though it being the same ceremony, receive ritual with different voices and maybe with different emphasis than they are used to. Another plus is that with usually 12 members of the team at most demonstrations the attendance is swelled. The team was not only chosen for their ability to deliver ritual but also as individuals who enjoy the company of their hosts. Thus an added plus is the camaraderie which also exists on the evening. It is hoped that as the team was chosen from various parts of the Province this will help emulate the great success of the travelling keystone and ark.

The team are available for the following:

Mark : Ceremony of advancement/Mark Lecture and a short paper on the Royal Ark Mariner Degree.

RAM : Ceremony of Elevation/RAM Tracing board/Paper on the RAM degree.

If the team can be of assistance to any Lodge they will endeavour to make themselves available at your request.
