Hallam 90th Celebrations

Hallam Lodge celebrated its 90th Anniversary in great style at the Commodore Hotel, Kewstoke on Saturday 22nd October, when more than seventy members and guests enjoyed a wonderful evening with plenty of fun and laughter to go with the meal and the dance afterwards.

Guest of honour V.W.Bro Ray Guthrie gave a heartfelt toast to the Lodge on this special occasion and looked forward to the Lodges centenary in ten years time.

W.Bro Barrie Webster explained that in its 90th year the members of Hallam Lodge had decided to support the Royal British Legion, an organisation also celebrating its 90th year. He also explained the links between the William Long Lodge of MMM at Burnham and Hallam Lodge.
He Presented a cheque for the magnificent sum of £750 from the Lodge to Mrs Marjorie Lees, the secretary of the Burnham on Sea Branch of the Royal British Legion. Mrs Lees responded by thanking the members of Hallam Lodge for their great generosity and added that she had also thoroughly enjoyed the evening.

The evening was rounded off with dancing to the excellent and entertaining Stephanie Scott.
