Provincial Royal Ark Mariner Banner Dedication
On 9th October Fidelity & Unanimity Lodge of RAMs No. 348 was honoured with the presence of the Provincial Grand Master and Provincial Officers of the year for the purpose of dedicating the Provincial RAM banner.
The business of the evening began with the elevation of Bro. Matthew Clothier (son in law of the W. Commander) conducted by officers and members of the lodge.
The sceptre of the Lodge was then proffered to the Provincial Grand Master who accepted it and took the chair for the purpose of dedicating the banner. In his introductory remarks the PGM said that this was the first Provincial RAM banner for the Province and only one of a few in the constitution. A deputation was then formed and the banner, still covered, paraded into the Lodge. It was formally presented for dedication by W.Bro. Terry Wood who we all suspect had a hand in providing the magnificent super structure on which the banner was mounted.
The Provincial Grand Chaplain, W.Bro. Vernon Harding, then gave a very interesting and stimulating oration in which he explained, among other things, the various emblems on the banner. It was then formally dedicated and displayed for all to see. It will be paraded in at the Royal Ark Mariner Assembly to be held on 30th January 2010 at Nailsea. Report by John Winston

Comments from the Provincial Grand Master -
It was a wonderful evening at Fidelity and Unanimity Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners No.348 on Friday 9th October where the Worshipful Commander elevated his Son in Law Brother Matthew Clothier.
After the elevation ceremony the Provincial Officers of the year then assisted me in dedicating the new Provincial Royal Ark Mariners Banner. The presenting Officer W.Bro Terry Wood accepted the banner on behalf of the Province after the dedication ceremony. The Banner bearer W.Bro Derek Shailer paraded the banner around the Lodge room with the Provincial Wardens and Deacons. It was a lovely evening full of fellowship and ceremony with superb music being played by Brother Barry Renwick during the dedication
