Portcullis Lodge Presents Lectures
Portcullis first meeting back after the summer break was a little different to the usual meeting one comes to expect at the Hanging Chapel, as the proposed candidate decided a cruise around the Med was preferable to being advanced into the magic of Mark, can’t think why!
Rather than perform a demonstration, the gathered Brethren we were treated to two marvelous lectures! W.Bro David Rocky expounded the history of the degree by performing the Lecture on the Mark Degree of a Mark Master Mason with his usual style and flair and W.Bro Steve McNaughton, the Provincial Director of Ceremonies, presented a talk on the role of a DC with a plethora of good practises thrown in.
The third lecture of the evening was a talk on Mark token with an explanation of the symbols and cypher on the coin! All the talks were well received by members and their guests, which included a number of Grand offices.

Other lodge business included the Master Elect being, named as Bro Neill McGrath, who will be Installed in fine Portcullis manner in November with an Advancement ceremony likely to take place in February and other candidates in the pipeline. The other highlight of the evening was a Grand Lodge certificate presented to Bro Neil Hitchcott by W.Bro Chris Court.
The evening finished off at the Langport Arms for a fine Festive Board.
