Another entertaining evening at Portcullis 1656

L to R Steve McNaughton (acting SW), Phil Voisey, Grant Peckham (Cand), Tony Hooper (WM) and George Small (JW)

The World Famous Hanging Chapel witnessed another night of high quality Masonic entertainment when Bro Grant Peckham was advanced in fine style by the evergreen Master Tony Hooper and his team of Officers.  The lodge was honoured to have the PGM in attendance along with the ruling Masters from Quantock and Science Lodge who were all made most welcome.  The Master’s first job, after welcoming the PGM was to install the Officers who were not present at the Installation meeting including Neil Hitchcott as Junior Deacon and Nick Brown as Tyler.  Bro Grant very much enjoyed the ceremony of his Advancement which of course had its moments of good humour, and is looking forward to starting his Mark journey.

The lodge also proposed at the meeting to donate to Bro Mike Norton’s London Marathon Charity run and wished him luck.  If anyone wishes to support this please have a look at the link here, should you wish to contribute.

Furthermore, another candidate was balloted for so we will have another advancement to work at our April meeting.

The Festive Board at the Arms was excellent with Bro Mike Norton proposing the toast to the Candidate and he spoke of how much Grant loves his Masonry and he responded to that toast in fine style.  W.Bro David Preece from Quantock Lodge responded fittingly to W.Bro George Small’s humourous visitors toast.
