Proud Father sees Son Advanced at Cerdic Mark No.571

It was a very special evening at the Cerdic Mark Lodge No.571 on Wednesday 19th February, where candidate William Bullows, son of Paul Brice-Bullows, was Advanced into the Mark degree in a really meaningful ceremony.
W.Bro Paul, is the Secretary of the Mark, Scribe of the RAM and Secretary of the Craft, all meeting at Chard Masonic Hall, amongst others, especially in the Mark degree !
There were a goodly number of brethren in attendance, including the Provincial Grand Master for Somerset, Phillip Voisey, the Past Deputy Provincial Grand Master, Geoff Nash and the Provincial Grand Director of Ceremonies, Steve McNaughton.
The Advancement ceremony was conducted in a very friendly but sincere manner , with various amounts of mirth, especially from the Overseers led by Master Overseer Robert Thomas, who added a great deal to making the ceremony all the more meaningful!
The ceremony was well led by the Worshipful Master, Steve Warwick, on his first Advancement Ceremony since he was Installed in October, well done Steve!….and congratulations also go to Alan Gitsham and John Nicholls, the SD and JD respectively, who expertly guided Will throughout the ceremony.
A special mention must go to W.Bro Ian Clift, the new and overworked Director of Ceremonies, who gave a splendid presentation of the signs and secrets in addition to his usual onerous duties!

The lodge being closed in peace and harmony, the brethren then retired to the Phoenix Hotel, for a cracking festive board, where proud father Paul, gave a heart warming toast to his newly Advanced son, Bro Will, who himself was an excellent candidate. In the speech, Paul mentioned he was Installed as Master in the Mark for the first time around the same time that Will was born!…..and with Will being 29 years young, it has brought the average age in the lodge down at Cerdic Mark! …..long may it continue.
