Carnarvon Lodge and the SAMMs…

The Christmas Meeting of Carnarvon Mark is always an enjoyable and well attended meeting but this year was extra special…
Some 85 or so Brethren assembled at Keynsham to watch the Somerset Ancient Mark Masters Team demonstrate their ancient working of the Mark Ceremony. The majority of those present hadn’t witnessed the SAMMs Team Workings before and everyone was thoroughly impressed as the SAMMs Team, ably led by their “Worshipful Sir” Ian Strickland and the Secretary, Mike Fazackerley produced a brilliant display.
The Provincial Grand Master was present to oversee proceedings and making a guest appearance for the SAMMs (having retired from the Team a few years ago) was the Craft Provincial Grand Master and Grand Superintendent, Ray Guthrie. The Grand Superintendent was delighted to be able to present the Provincial Grand Master with a donation to the 2028 MBF Festival Appeal for £2000.00, which was very gratefully received by Phil Voisey, who thanked the Grand Superintendent and the Royal Arch for the very kind donation.

The Provincial Grand Master was delighted to be able to present John Ryemill with his Grand Lodge Certificate, being the newest Member of the Lodge and was then very pleased to be able to present one of the SAMMs Team, namely Ron Troup with his 40 Year Certificate, celebrating 40 very enjoyable years in the Mark Degree.

The Brethren then gathered in the Dining Room to enjoy a well earned festive turkey buffet with all the usual trimmings where a further £250.00 was raised at the raffle and donated to the SAMMs Team to thank them for their efforts.
