Cerdic Royal Ark Mariner Lodge welcomes a new Member!
It was the first dry evening for weeks that welcomed the PGM and brethren to Chard for a ceremony of Elevation. After greeting the Provincial Grand Master and other guests, the lodge got down to the main business of the night, to Elevate Bro Alan Gitsham into this beautiful degree.
The Commander, Chris Jeffery got off to a good start, progressing past the obligation and witnessing a heart felt working of the signs etc from past Commander Ken Crang. Alan was ably assisted around the lodge by past Commander Ron Troup standing in as SD. The enjoyment continued with a working of the tools from Mike Nathan and topped off with a meaningful explanation of the nine steps given by the SW Robert Thomas.
The evening completed with an excellent Social Board, good food and a raffle. In his toast to candidate Alan, his proposer and Scribe Paul Brice-Bullows presented him with the Royal Ark Mariner Tie and ritual and of course, the Adventor club card for RAM. Bro Alan replied saying how much he enjoyed the short but meaningful ceremony and thanked all who had contributed to its success.
