At the Double!
At a recent meeting of Yatton Royal Ark Mariners, the brethren welcomed two new Mariners in a significant first for the lodge. For the first time in its history, the lodge conducted a double Elevation, with Mark Master Masons Neil Hitchcott and Justin Pursey embarking together.
Led by Commander Rolly Ansell, ably assisted by DC Ian Macdonald and the Yatton crew, the lodge celebrated this special occasion with an excellent ceremony, which was followed by a convivial festive board.
The evening proved enjoyable for both brethren and visitors, and despite the average age of the deacons being well over 70, proceedings went very smoothly, albeit at a leisurely pace. Both Neil and Justin expressed their gratitude for the memorable evening and shared their enthusiasm at becoming Somerset Mariners in this distinguished and fascinating degree.
