Provincial news

The Province is very well represented at Grand Lodge in London

34 Mark Masons from Somerset led by the PGM RW Bro. Philip Voisey and the Deputy PGM W.Bro. Tony Guthrie attended the quarterly meeting of Mark Grand Lodge on Tuesday 12th March.

After meeting up for lunch in the Shakespeare’s Head, Holborn the brethren made their way to Great Queen Street for the Mark Grand Lodge meeting.

The highlights of the meeting were hearing about the positive impacts of donations made by the Mark Benevolent Fund ;particularly to Shelter Box, which is an international disaster relief charity and the Irene Taylor Trust, which uses the creation of original music to transform lives especially with regard to ex-prisoners. A former ‘lifer’ spoke movingly about how the Trust  had changed his life and then played  the guitar and sang two songs, which he had written himself ,in an exemplary manner.

After the meeting all enjoyed an excellent meal at La Ballerina before the majority went by train back to Somerset.

It is an excellent day out, open to all Mark Master Masons and well worth attending in future.
