Ian Macdonald takes the Chair at Thackeray Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners
Ian Macdonald, who has been in the chair of 4 different Mark lodges, and who has been the director of ceremonies at Yatton Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners No 967 for quite some time, has been steadily progressing through each and every office at Thackeray Royal Ark Mariners Lodge.
To say that the brethren of Thackeray Lodge (and indeed many brethren around the province) have been eagerly waiting to see Ian become a Worshipful Commander is a bit of a gross understatement. Congratulations “Worshipful Brother” Ian.
George Sargeant, Thackeray’s now past Worshipful Commander, was unavoidably absent, and so the task of installing Ian fell to George’s immediate past commander, Andy Wade, who it’s fair to say obviously enjoyed the task at hand, and ably assisted by all the Officers of the Lodge, delivered a polished, relaxed and very friendly installation ceremony, as can be attested by the smiling faces below.

The installation ceremony was of course followed by a very happy festive board, with delicious food, and great company :-).
