Hallam Lodge – September 2025 – Welcome Colin

Perhaps the Brethren of Hallam are a little biased, but from a straw poll taken at the Festive Board, everyone agreed that the Hallam Lodge No 730 meeting in September 2025 was quite simply superb.

There was a fair amount of administrative work to do before getting to the main event, to Advance Brother Colin Kenyon of Southey lodge No 6650. This being the first meeting of the new year, it’s fair to say that the ritual wasn’t absolutely perfect, but it was pretty close, and certainly presented with enough enthusiasm and aplomb that Colin remembered and remarked on some of the poignant parts when responding to his toast at the Festive Board.

After the Advancement, Worshipful brother Ian McDonald, Provincial Grand Senior Warden, called upon the assistant director of ceremonies to present to him the director of ceremonies, Worshipful brother Geoff Seaman, whereupon he presented Geoff with a collarette to mark his having become a Grand Patron of the 2028 Festival.

The festive board was a busy, noisy, and patently enjoyable affair. The food was delicious as ever (as is attested by the clean plate below), the company delightful and the conversation lively. This was one of those occasions where the spirit of Masonic companionship and comradery was almost palpable. Well done Hallam.
