The Portcullis Lodge 1656 were delighted to welcome the Prov.GM

The Portcullis Lodge 1656 were delighted to welcome the Prov.GM, RW Bro Philip Voisey, on a private visit. The PGM is on a whistle stop tour of the Province before he retires in May. The Lodge performed a first class advancement ceremony for Bro Edward Penfold who came up all the way from Ivybridge in Devon to be advanced into his Brother’s Lodge dodging the flooded roads on the Somerset Levels. Edward fell in love with our medieval Chapel when he attended his Brother’s Passing ceremony and wanted to become a member. His Brother presented the working tools to him in fine style.

The PGM was then asked to present a Grand Lodge Certificate to Jon Joe Penfold which made a lovely picture.
The festive board was the usual sumptuous carvery and during the toasts to the visitors the Junior Warden Mike Norton thanked the PGM for his hard work over the last 14 years as an active Provincial officer and 7 years as PGM. The lodge was also pleased to welcome W.Bro Darren Sinclair who will soon be appointed DPGM.
