Isle of Wedmore Mark Lodge Meeting Wednesday 14th February 2024

The Isle of Wedmore MMM Lodge, Somerset’s premier (and only daylight) Lodge held its Valentine’s Day meeting at 10.30 am at the Clevedon Masonic Hall. The Lodge was honoured by the presence of RW Bro Phillip C Voisey accompanied by the Provincial Team and many distinguished guests.

The meeting commenced with a moving Eulogy given by VW Bro Cliff Hannabus for W Bro Patrick Norman Morrisey who had been a founder member of the Isle of Wedmore Lodge at its dedication in 2010. The brethren stood in silent tribute.

The WM, W Bro Mike Fazackerley welcomed the Provincial Grand Master and the many visitors to the Isle of Wedmore’s February meeting and announced  the main business was to advance Bro David Welham of The Forest of Mendip Lodge 8019 into The Isle of Mendip MMM Lodge 1912.

The Advancement was conducted with due solemnity (graced with skillful music played by guest organist W Bro David Attwater), Bro David Welham was duly advanced and invested with the badge and jewel. The Provincial Grand Master congratulated Bro Welham on the way he had conducted himself through the ceremony and wished him a long and happy time in the Isle of Wedmore Lodge.

A splendid festive board was supplied by Zena’s Catering who cheerfully coped with extra places. The dining hall was filled with lively conversations. The raffle for the Bristol Heart Institute raised a good sum and the Brethren went on their way home at 14.00hrs.
