The Provincial Grand Master to Retire

Phil Voisey, Provincial Grand Master for the Mark Province of Somerset

Brethren, I am sure that you will now all be well aware that our Provincial Grand Master, RW Bro Phil Voisey will be retiring shortly before our next Provincial AGM in May. RW Bro Phil has been an active Member of the Mark Provincial Team for a total of 14 years. First as a Senior Deacon back in 2006, with Promotion to Junior Warden in 2012 and then 5 years as Deputy PGM from 2014 before being appointed successor to RW Bro John Morgan as PGM in 2019. Over that time, he has served the Province in an impeccable manner and I’m sure Brethren that, like me you will be very sad to see him leave. We are incredibly grateful for all of his efforts and the Province of Somerset is much the better for his years of sterling work.

I’m very glad to be able to tell you that our Provincial Grand Secretary has managed to exert his considerable influence and book The Batch in Lympsham at short notice for a Sunday Luncheon to celebrate Phil’s retirement on Sunday 26th April so please add that date to your diaries. Further details will follow shortly when we have them, they will be posted here on the website and sent to all the Lodges.

I look forward to seeing as many of you there as possible along with your wives and partners to celebrate Phil’s considerable achievements as our Provincial Grand Master and of course to wish him well for his retirement (although I am fairly certain he will still be contributing to our wonderful Mark Degree for many more years to come!!).

Brethren, the next few months will be very busy for all of us in the Mark Provincial Team but especially for our Provincial Grand Master. I know he is very keen to try to get around the Province and see as many of you as possible before his well earned retirement and I am sure that, just as you have done throughout his tenure he will be warmly welcomed and that you will all endeavour to make his last few months in office extra special.
