F & U RAM 348 – TWO BROTHERS IN, TWO TO COME.
Friday 9th January saw the Brethren shake off the festive season and look forward to 2026. Unfortunately, a number of Brethren who booked in had come down with the ” dreaded lurgy” at the last moment, so were unable to attend.
However there was still an excellent attendance with 37 dining, amongst them the PrGM ,RWBro Philip Voisey, on a private visit.
Our Worshipful Commander, WBro James Brown, has done a magnificent job in recruiting 4 members of his Mark Lodge, Quantock, to become candidates during his year in office.
The first 2 candidates, Bro’s Mark Champion and Andrew Wood duly attended and were Elevated in an excellent ceremony into this beautiful degree. We welcome them both.
On completion of the ceremony the PrGM was invited to present Bro Grant Peckham with his Grand Lodge Certificate. He was Elevated at our October meeting with Bro Derrick Griffin who unfortunately was unable to be with us on the night to receive his certificate.
Due to having four candidates proposed by the Worshipful Commander, the Lodge applied for a Dispensation to hold an Emergency meetin,g on Friday 13th February (what could possibly go wrong), to Elevate his son Bro Sam Brown and Bro Peter Wall into the lodge. We look forward to welcoming them .
The Festive Board was a lively event with an excellent meal provided by Karen and her team. The banter was to and fro with our many guests, and an enjoyable night was had by all.
We now look forward to our next meeting.
