A new Master at Quantock Mark 749
On Wednesday 1st March 2023, it was the Installation Meeting for Quantock Mark 749 in Bridgwater, where WBro. Richard Winter installed his long-time friend Bro David Preece into the chair of Adoniram.
The lodge was honoured by the presence of WBro. Tony Guthrie, the Deputy PGM, with a goodly number of Grand and Provincial Officers also present.
At the beginning of the meeting Richard thanked the Brethren and officers of the lodge for their support and assistance he had received from them during his year in office, which had been busy year with Advancements and a Banner dedication Ceremony.
Richard then proceeded to install David into the Chair. Having not been through the Chair I can’t comment on the Inner Working (I am sure they went well) when we were then welcomed back into the lodge in to see David graciously appoint his officers with genuine warmth, feeling and sincerity. Each group of appointments was of course accompanied by the relevant addresses. The DPrGM performing the address to the Master and W.Bro Graham Lock the address to the Wardens to name but two. The working tools were confidently explained by Bro. David Smith and throughout the ceremony WBro. Gary Boon kept everyone in order.
The festive board was superb and the toasts were excellent and the Raffle very well supported. We all wish W.Bro Dave a fantastic year in the Chair.
