The PGM addresses two Masters in one evening
All who attended the Mark Meeting at the Bath Masonic Hall certainly witnessed a remarkable event.
The Royal Cumberland Lodge of Mark Master Masons had their Installation meeting cancelled due to the very inclement Weather on the 8th of March.
After much discussion and some great organisation, it was agreed that their ceremony would precede the Royal Sussex Mark Lodge installation meeting on the 27th of March.
The Installing Master W Bro Richard Cooper accepted the challenge to install Brother Craig Harding in less than one hour, and what a fantastic job he did, with all the essential elements of the ceremony being completed. The PGM addressed the new Master in the usual manner.
After the first ceremony and with all the brethren taking a 5-minute break the Royal Sussex installation commenced with the Provincial Grand Master R W Bro Philip Voisey parading into the Lodge.
This was a full ceremony with the Installing Master W Bro Mark Steventon-Smith installing Bro Malcolm Toogood, and again an excellent job was done, with help from some of his officers.
The PGM under the watchful eye of the assistant Grand Director of Ceremonies, W Bro Ray Conneely rose to deliver his second address of the evening to the Master.
During the evening the Provincial Grand Master had plenty to do with his first task to offer W Bro Ian Anderson congratulations on his Grand Lodge appointment, this yielded long applause from the brethren.
The PGM’s next task was to present W Bro Trevor Burton with his 30 years long Service certificate before Presenting W Bro Graham Jeffery with his MBF Vice patrons festival jewel.
The evening concluded with the brethren of the Royal Cumberland and Royal Sussex enjoying a fine meal in good company and everyone agreed that it had indeed been an evening to remember.
