Tracing Board explained at Portcullis Mark!

L to R Mike Norton, Steve McNaughton and Grant Peckham

The Universally Proclaimed Lodge of Portcullis 1656 held their first meeting of the new season on Tuesday 17th September.  Unfortunately although of the 3 or 4 potential candidates waiting in the wings, none were quite ready to make the fourth regular step, so the Lodge presented the lecture of the Mark Degree tracing board. The pieces of ritual were divided up and read out by several of the members.  As each of the brethren read their piece, Steve McNaughton pointed out the relevant symbol on a giant Mark tracing board. All of the members and visitors enjoyed the explanation.

Other items for the evening’s agenda included the presentation of a Mark Grand Lodge certificate to Grant Peckham and an MBF Vice Patron collarette to Mike Norton which was very ably done by Steve McNaughton.  The Brethren were also delighted that the Master Tony Hooper agreed to take the chair for a second year. The Brethren adjourned to the Langport Arms for a splendid Festive Board with the Raffle raising £100. The lodge were also very pleased to wish Denis Paul (a Founder member) a very happy 80th birthday!
